Organize It

Friday, January 28th, 2011

A common New Year’s resolution is to get organized and a great first place to start is by working on that troublesome closet. This especially works well this time of year because most people ended the holiday season with twice as much STUFF as they started with. So where does it go?

While some organizing strategies are universal, others need to be customized to individual storage problems. For instance, do you HATE folding clothes? If so, are you likely to fold your clothes? I doubt it. Also, think about the stuff you are storing. A woman with a shoe or purse collection will likely have different needs than an athletic family of five.

Baby It’s Cold Outside

Mother Nature sure did hand the Northeast a heaping helping of winter weather this week. Snow bunnies and gents may be delighted with the recent accumulation, but everyone else has started planning their next tropical vacation.

Are you suffering from a bit of cabin fever? If you can’t escape the snow, why not make the most of your time indoors. Rearrange the furniture, tidy up the catch-all drawer, or clumsey closet.

Need inspiration? Or someone just to point you in the right direction? I can help get you going, cheer you on, or help every step of the way. Spring is still a few months away, what are you waiting for? Call or write today!

HAP-PY New Year!

Friday, January 7th, 2011

With the New Year, comes New Year resolutions. Some people - like my friend Amy - LOVE to write resolutions. In fact, Amy has written resolutions for each month, in each of several improvement categories - all measurable and mostly reasonable goals.

So with all the practice of creating resolutions year after year, why then do we still fall short? In many cases, the answer is not so much a lack of commitment or determination, but lacking the right skills or support to accomplish our goal.

Do you know a friend or family member who has resolved to becoming more organized for 2011? Perhaps she has decided to reclaim an underappreciated space or tackling that To Do list. I’d love to be part of her next project, and help her through to completion.

Best wishes to you and yours!
