Hello, hello! Wonderful to see you again :) And just like that - it’s September.
A popular project this time of year is what I like to call a redesign. This is when we give an existing space a new look or function. Examples may include breathing new life into a living room, turning a guest room into an office, or improving the organization of a mudroom. A redesign may include new furniture, a new color palette or accent color, flooring, lighting, window treatments, accessories, and possibly minor construction.
Contrary to popular belief, not every designer is bound and determined to reinvent the wheel that is your home. I love to incorporate existing pieces and achieve the desired results as efficiently as possible. Most importantly, I work with each client to develop a recipe for change that best fits their needs and goals.
So what project are you looking to tackle in the coming months? Fall is an excellent time to create order after a chaotic summer as well as plan ahead for holiday entertaining. Let’s start the conversation - call or write today!

Stair systems can be pretty standard. Rise, run, railing - end of story. But that doesn’t have to be the case. The following images illustrate how a staircase can contribute to the interest and character of a home.

For the last several months I have been busy with a very special project. In this situation, we are updating the old farmhouse my client grew up in. First on the To Do List: redesign the bedrooms for two little girls (ages 9 and 7). This was a fun and unique opportunity for me to play in the world of COOL and CUTE. Here are couple snapshots for your viewing pleasure.

But the fun doesn’t stop there! The 2nd floor hall and dual stairways received a major transformation as well. Stay tuned for more images to follow.

… Sorry. No scary stories here. I’m a bit of a light weight when it comes to scary stuff, actually - always have been. On the other hand, I’m a regular badass when it comes to design. Here are some dark and stormy spaces in the spirit of All Hallows’ Eve.

As mentioned in my last post, I’m helping my prego bestie reno her kitchen. While I could share some fun kitchen imagery, I’m kinda itching to “research” nurseries instead. Granted, her nursery is pretty much taken care of at this point, it’s still fun to look. Aren’t they adorable?!

Lately I’ve had the pleasure of helping one of my best friends with a kitchen renovation. It has been such a joy to share my talent and passion for design with someone so special to me. I am exceptionally grateful to spend this time together as she is 8 months pregnant with twins! Life is going to be different pretty soon… I’m so glad for the opportunity to help her and her family in this unique way.
Stay tuned for kitchen updates and pictures to come. In the meantime, happy, healthy thoughts for my amazing friend. You’re lookin’ good girl! I love you.

Just so we are clear, this post has nothing to do with big hair or magic spells… A Pouf is defined as a “soft round or square seat with no back or sides”. These adorable little buggers are fantastic! and here are several reasons why. Not only are they adorable (as mentioned), but they are versatile too. Poufs can be used for additional seating as well as to rest your feet on. In some applications, you might even use one as a semi-sturdy side table. Poufs can be colorful, textural, and durable as they are generally made out of leather. Still need convincing? Poufs can also be used as storage! That’s right folks, storage. Traditionally, European countrys are slim on storage so they keep their off season clothes in these soft boxes. Love, love, love them.

Often overlooked, ceilings present a great deal of opportunity in creating unique and interesting spaces. If you have any doubt on their importance, you need only watch HGTV for about 3.4 seconds to hear someone comment “I love the _____ ceilings.” Am I right? Here are a few examples of well considered ceilings.

Hello and welcome! Great to have you back :) Next to be featured is a color that has made quite an impression on me. So much so, that I even went so far as to include it in my business name! That’s right, you guessed it: Purple.
Purple, or Violet, is known to embody passion, drama, artistry, spirituality, opulence, determination, independence, wisdom, intrigue, and wit. Feast your eyes on these delicious images:
