There’s something special about October in New England as we transition from the vivid colors of September to the muted tones of fall. Prompted by the beauty of this fallen leaf, I can’t quite decide if October’s Inspiration is Everywhere is traditional, farmhouse, or contemporary… Let me explain.
Although I often consider contemporary as minimalist with a strong geometric foundation, it can also refer to a style that is “of the moment.” Several details of this space lean quite traditional – furniture style vanity with Carrera marble top, beveled mirror, elegant toilet – while other details add farmhouse character, such as the shepherd spout faucet with ceramic lever buttons, charming wallpaper, pharmacy glass bottles, and black hardware. Nevertheless, the chemistry of the individual components, all while dressed in an earthy palette of cream, brown, black and gray, combine in a way that feels very much “of the moment.”
