Another project I contributed to while working as the in-house designer for Cedar Mill Group was the extreme makeover of this lakeside condo in Moultonborough, New Hampshire. Part of what made this project so special was the intention for it to become a legacy home for the family, enjoyed for generations to come.
The property was essentially gutted throughout to improve the functional use of the space and improve flow. In addition to creating a master suite on the second floor, a first floor master was designed to accommodate the family aging in place safely. To compliment the “Rustic Lodge” concept for this project, materials such as Reclaimed South Facing Oak floors, granite countertops, rustic hickory and walnut cabinetry as well as distressed shiplap were utilized. One particularly interesting detail of this project was the use of reclaimed beams, sourced from a local barn, to add architectural character to the space.
